Weather patterns in Delhi-NCR are expected to shift once again. The Meteorological Department has predicted a change in weather on the night of February 9 and during February 10 due to the partial influence of a Western Disturbance. During this period, some parts of the district may experience thunderstorms accompanied by drizzles or light rain. While the overall impact is expected to be minor, sudden weather changes are likely in certain areas.
According to weather experts, cold north-westerly winds are expected to blow following the rain. This could lead to a dip in night temperatures, potentially intensifying the cold once more. Residents are likely to feel the chill more acutely during the night and early morning hours. Additionally, light fog may develop in some locations, which could affect visibility during the early morning and late night.
On Thursday, no fog was observed in the district. The morning started with clear skies and the sunshine provided much-needed relief to residents. The weather remained normal throughout the day, ensuring smooth road traffic. However, cold winds maintained a chill in the air, and shivering conditions increased by evening.
Fluctuating Temperatures
According to data from the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 10.4°C, which is close to normal. The maximum temperature reached 22.1°C, but mercury levels began to drop as soon as the sun set. Experts suggest that temperatures will continue to fluctuate over the next few days.
In view of the potential weather changes, both farmers and citizens have been advised to remain cautious. While light rain is expected to benefit Rabi crops to some extent, the increasing cold necessitates special care for the elderly and children.
