The journey to Kartavya Path to witness the Republic Day parade is set to become much easier this year. In view of the parade, Delhi Metro services will commence as early as 3:00 am on January 26. This early start ensures that visitors will face no difficulty in reaching Kartavya Path; they can simply arrive at their nearest metro station and proceed comfortably to their designated seats.
Free Metro Travel For Invitees
For the first time, metro tickets are being provided to the public. Visitors attending the Republic Day ceremony who hold digital tickets for seats at the venue can avail of free metro travel on January 26. This facility applies to both the onward and return journeys to the two stations located near Raisina Hill.
Individuals possessing a valid invitation card, admit card, or ticket, along with a government-issued photo ID, will be eligible for this free metro service. Commuters utilising this facility can deboard at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations to reach their assigned seating areas at the venue.
Tech-Enabled Traffic Management
The Delhi Traffic Police has implemented several technical measures to ensure smooth traffic and a hassle-free journey for visitors coming to Kartavya Path for the Republic Day parade and the Beating Retreat ceremony. For the first time, the Traffic Police has created detailed animated videos using Artificial Intelligence (AI). These videos clearly demonstrate the arrival, drop-off, departure and parking arrangements for invited guests.

Digital Guidance And Facilities
These videos are designed to familiarise the public with the arrangements in advance. They are available on the Ministry of Defence website and can also be accessed through the QR code-based parking system. Additionally, a car-calling system, collaboration with real-time navigation apps like Google Maps and Mappls, shuttle services, 22 parking zones (accommodating 8,000 vehicles), 12 help desks and other digital facilities have been introduced.
Crowd Management Goals
These measures will assist in crowd management and smooth traffic flow during both the Republic Day parade on January 26 and the Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29, ensuring easy access and exit for approximately 77,000 spectators.
