As with every year, preparations for Republic Day are in full swing in the capital, Delhi. Those planning to watch the parade this time must be aware of some important points before they go. On Republic Day, there will be high security around Kartavya Path. Attendees will be subject to security checks before being granted entry to the parade. No electronic devices, other than mobile phones, will be permitted.
List Of Banned Items At Kartavya Path
Here is a list of items that will not be permitted at the 77th Republic Day parade-
If you are going to watch the Republic Day parade, there are certain items you will not be able to take with you. For example, mobile chargers, earphones, power banks, any battery-operated gadgets, hammers, razors, blades, knives, sharp weapons, scissors, and wires will not be permitted. In addition, items such as hammers, drills, saws, swords, daggers and screwdrivers are strictly prohibited. If you are found with any of these items, you will be denied entry.
Theme: Vande Mataram And Atmanirbhar Bharat
At the 77th Republic Day parade, the tableaux passing along Kartavya Path will be special, despite being theme-based. Not only will Vande Mataram resonate from these tableaux, but a depiction of Operation Sindoor will also be featured. The theme for the tableaux has been set as ‘Swatantrata ka Mantra Vande Mataram evam Samriddhi ka Mantra-Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (The Mantra of Freedom Vande Mataram and the Mantra of Prosperity-Self-reliant India). This means that with the main theme focusing on the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram and Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India), the 30 tableaux from states, union territories, and ministries will showcase unity, self-reliance, and inclusive national progress.
State And Ministry Tableaux Highlights
Meanwhile, on Thursday, officials from the Ministry of Defence at the Rashtriya Rangshala stated that a total of 30 tableaux from 17 states and union territories, and 13 central government departments will participate in this year's parade. The tableaux of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, the Ministry of Culture, and the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will display the glorious 150-year saga of Vande Mataram. The tableau of the Department of Military Affairs will showcase the victory of last year's Operation Sindoor. The tableau from Himachal Pradesh will depict 'Dev Bhumi - Veer Bhumi' (Land of Gods - Land of the Brave), and Maharashtra's tableau will portray the concept of Ganeshotsav.

Indian Cinema And Cultural Tributes
While some tableaux will display the country's culture, heritage and progress, a glimpse of Indian cinema will also be seen for the first time. The tableau from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be special. Its theme will be 'Bharat Katha: Shruti, Kriti aur Drishti' (The Story of India: Heard, Created and Seen). Through this tableau, a glimpse of Indian cinema will be seen on Kartavya Path for the first time. It is reported that this grand cinematic presentation will be represented by renowned film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Meanwhile, Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani will present a new rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’, which will add a new cultural dimension to the parade.
