"Values and self-respect reflect from the forts", These words, spoken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 'Mann Ki Baat' program on July 27 last year, will be seen materialising in Uttar Pradesh's tableau on the Kartavya Path this Republic Day.
On the occasion of Republic Day, Uttar Pradesh's tableau will be based on the glorious heritage of the historic Kalinjar Fort, representing the pride of Bundelkhand. It will showcase a unique confluence of tradition and progress, featuring everything from the ancient fortress to the Brahmos missile. The Kalinjar Fort stands as a symbol of the state's valor, culture, and self-respect.
Historical Legacy: The Impregnable Fortress Of Bundelkhand
Located in the Banda district of the state, Kalinjar Fort is counted among the most ancient and strategically significant forts in India. Historical records indicate that the invader Mahmud of Ghazni attacked this fort multiple times, yet he faced failure on every occasion. Situated on a high hill, this fortress remained impregnable for centuries, becoming a powerful symbol of Bundelkhand's saga of valor.
Inspiration From PM Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat'
In his popular program 'Mann Ki Baat,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi made special mention of the Kalinjar Fort, stating that the forts of Uttar Pradesh are not merely bricks and stones, but symbols of our culture. While mentioning other historic forts of Bundelkhand such as Gwalior, Jhansi, Datia, Ajaigarh, Garhkundar, and Chanderi, he remarked that 'values and self-respect still reflect from the high walls of these forts today.'

Spiritual Essence And Cultural Showcase
The Neelkantheshwar Mahadev Temple, located within the Kalinjar Fort, further reinforces its spiritual identity. The temple's ancient architecture and religious significance make it a major center of faith.
The Republic Day tableau will feature a grand display of Bundelkhand's culture, craftsmanship, and the development journey of modern Uttar Pradesh. It will present a complete glimpse of the region, ranging from One District One Product (ODOP), folk dances and tourism to modern infrastructure.
