IIT Kanpur Admission 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has invited applications for admission to its undergraduate BTech and BS programmes for the academic session 2026-27 through the Olympiad channel. Candidates seeking admission through the Olympiad channel must have appeared for the Class 12 or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Selection will be based on performance in a computer-based test (CBT) to be conducted by IIT Kanpur on June 24, 2026.
The institute will release the final answer key and results on June 27, while candidates allotted seats will have to confirm their admission by July 1.
Programmes Offered Through Olympiad Channel
IIT Kanpur is offering admissions to several four-year undergraduate programmes under this route. BTech programmes include Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Intelligent Systems.
BS courses are available in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Physics, and Statistics and Data Science.
Eligibility Criteria and Registration Fee
Students who appeared for Class 12 examinations in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Female candidates and applicants belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories are required to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,600, while all other candidates must pay Rs 3,200.
