MP TET 2026 Notification: Following the release of the MP TET notification 2026, the online application began on August 21, 2026. Eligible candidates must register via the official portal at esb.mp.gov.in until September 4, 2026. Approximately 1.5 lakh teachers are expected to appear for the recruitment exam on October 12, 2026. However, the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) has still not provided a clear list of teachers who are eligible to appear for the exam. The confusion over the eligibility criteria still continues within the School Education Department, causing anxiety and frustration among the applicants.

Befuddlement Continues Over Eligibility Parameters

The department has verbally stated that those whose mark sheets contain "Teacher Eligibility Test" will be exempt from this process. However, the certificates of teachers appointed through Vyapam between 2005 and 2009 contain "Contract School Teacher Eligibility Test," further complicating the situation. Regarding this technical difference, there have been no clear guidelines issued at the administrative level.

Key Questions Asked

The teachers’ organization is asking these important questions about the eligibility confusion for the MP TET exam 2026.

1. Curriculum Controversy:  According to teachers' organizations, the Supreme Court's directives relate to passing the eligibility test, not retaking the exam under the new curriculum. Between 2005 and 2009, contract teachers were selected based on a rigorous exam conducted by Vyapam, the syllabus of which was similar to the TET.

2. Status of Promoted Teachers:  Primary and secondary teachers appointed without exams between 1999 and 2004 are now working in higher positions after receiving promotions. Exempting them from exams raises the issue of inequality with other teachers.

3. Current Post Controversy:  For teachers who have been promoted under the 'Charge of Higher Post' policy and are teaching higher classes, it is not clear whether the examination will be conducted based on their original post or the charge of the post they are currently holding.
