NEET UG Result 2024 Controversy: In response to increasing demands for the cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2024) results, the National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Education Ministry, held a press conference on Saturday. During the briefing, they discussed concerns regarding a significant number of candidates achieving higher marks and a larger pool of candidates attaining the top rank.
During the press conference, the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated that a four-member high-power committee has been appointed to investigate the matter concerning approximately 1,600 candidates across six centers. He further mentioned that any subsequent actions, including the possibility of a re-examination, will be determined based on the recommendations provided by this committee.
The NTA has stated that Writ Petitions were submitted by NEET (UG) 2024 candidates to the High Courts of Punjab & Haryana, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh, expressing concerns about the loss of exam time at certain Exam Centers during the NEET (UG) 2024 exam. NTA submitted in the Courts that the candidates' representations will be addressed based on the recommendations of the Grievance Committee.

The Committee examined the complaints and appeals, utilising factual reports from officials and CCTV footage from relevant exam centers. They assessed the duration of time lost during the examination and granted compensation to impacted candidates by allocating marks according to their answering efficiency and the time they lost. In response to concerns regarding the allocation of compensatory marks, the NTA has chosen to establish a committee to probe the issue.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has established a committee to evaluate the grace marks granted to more than 1,500 candidates. Numerous candidates have claimed that the inflation of marks led to 67 candidates securing the top rank, with six of them originating from the same exam center in Haryana.
Medical aspirants and the public have expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET UG result announced on June 4. Many students are demanding the cancellation of the exam and the implementation of a re-test.
