NTA Mock Drill: Just before the NEET UG re-exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has organised a mega mock drill across the country, assessing the security arrangements, transportation of question papers, and other arrangements across the examination centres. The full-scale drill will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. More than 22 lakh aspirants will be appearing for the exam at various exam centres nationwide. 551 cities in the country and 14 cities abroad, constituting more than 5,000 exam centres, have been converted into high-security zones. The purpose of the mock drill is to ensure that the June 21 re-test will be held in a completely fair, safe, and transparent manner.

Purpose Of Mock Drill
The mock drill is underway to make sure that everything goes smoothly tomorrow. Installation of several CCTV cameras, safe transportation of question papers, biometric verification, and multi-layered security checks are being thoroughly checked by the officials. Moreover, to strengthen administrative control, the majority of the examination centres have been set up within the government education institutions.
Over 2 Lakh Police Personnel Deployed
More than 5,000 examination centres are under strict surveillance following a three-level mechanism involving district administrations, state police units and specialised teams from the central government. To secure and manage the examination centres, over 2 lakh police personnel have been deployed. Nearly 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras have been installed inside the examination centre to diligently monitor the June 21 test. To ensure safe movement of the question papers and answer sheets, the Centre has used approximately 15,000 paramilitary personnel.
Travel Arrangements For NEET Aspirants
To ease out the travelling facilities for NEET aspirants, states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar and Chhattisgarh have announced to provide transport assistance. Candidates who have allotted exam centres in these states can avail of these facilities to reach the exam venues comfortably on time.
Additionally, the authorities have directed the exam centres to provide basic facilities to candidates such as water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, backup generators, first-aid arrangements, ambulance support and portable toilets. For diabetic candidates, special provisions are laid out by NTA, which must be followed during the examination.
