Prachi Nigam, the UP Board Class 10 topper of this year with an impressive 98.5 per cent score, has responded to the criticism she faced regarding her facial hair. Emphasising that her academic achievements outweigh any focus on her appearance, Prachi asserted that her marks are what truly count.

"When I saw that people were trolling me, it didn't bother me much. My marks matters, not my facial hair," she said, as reported by NDTV.

Prachi also expressed gratitude towards those who stood by her." When my picture was shared on social media as the UP Board examination topper, some people trolled me. At the same time, there were people who supported me. I want to thank them all," she said.

Prachi remarked, "Those who find my facial hair odd can keep on trolling—it doesn't bother me."

"Even Chanyakya was trolled for his appearance and looks, but it didn't affect him either," she further said.
