Mrunal Thakur is one of the prominent actresses of recent times in Indian Cinema, who has been getting success in Bollywood and the South Film Industry as well. The actress recently shared that she had to fight with producers for her role in Pooja Meri Jaan. Mrunal said that she gave multiple auditions, screen tests and then begged for the part. She also shared that she shot the movie 2 years ago and is hopeful that it will be released this year. 

In an interview with The Longest Interview on Audible, Mrunal said “There is one film, ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’ that I have done, it is yet to be released. But that film is something that I wanted to do, this is who I am, and this is what had happened to me. So, I fought with the producers because I found out someone else was supposed to play this character.” 

“When I found out this film was being made, I fought for that role – I gave multiple auditions and screen tests. I had to literally beg for it. We shot it 2 years ago, and it should hopefully be released this year. I remember it was the last day of shooting for ‘Sita Ramam’ and I had to take a flight the next morning for a screen test,” she also added. 

Mrunal will be next seen in Vishwambhara.  Directed by Mallidi Vasishta, the movie also features Trisha Krishnan, Chiranjeevi, Janhvi Kapoor, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Kunal Kapoor in significant roles. The fantasy adventure is all set to release in theatres on 10th January 2025. She was last seen playing the lead role in the Telugu movie The Family Star. Parasuram’s directorial also stars Vijay Deverakonda, Divyansha Kaushik, Rohini Hattangadi, Vasuki Anand, Marissa Rose Gordon, Ajay Ghosh and Ravi Prakash in prominent roles. Released on 5th April 2024 in theatres, the movie is currently streaming on JioCinema and Prime Video.
