Rising Bollywood actress Aneet Padda is set to surprise audiences with a powerful double role in her upcoming film Shakti Shalini after Saiyaara. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the project is based on mythology with modern storytelling. After gaining attention for her relatable performances, Aneet has now stepped into a more intense and layered character space, marking a major turning point in her career.
Aneet Padda To Take On Dual Roles In Shakti Shalini
According to various media reports and as suggested by the film's title, Aneet is expected to play two opposing characters in her next movie, Shakti and Shalini. Shalini is a wicked and vindictive spirit, while Shakti is a divine guardian inspired by Goddess Kali. The story drew inspiration from Bengali folklore and used these two strong identities to examine the age-old conflict between good and evil.
Shakti Shalini Film’s Plot
As per the id-day report, the film's plot is based on the concept of a woman’s spirit that comes back to seek vengeance because of betrayal and murder. The spirit goes after men and represents the idea of unfulfilled anguish and unfairness. However, against the ghost stands Shakti, who is a divine power that arises to restore justice and eliminate evil.
Part Of A Bigger Horror Universe
The film is a key addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Aneet’s character was officially announced in a post-credit scene of Ayushmann Khurrana's film Thamma, released in October 2025. Her role was described as a powerful entity embodying creation, destruction, and motherhood. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24.
About Shakti Shalini Cast and Emotional Depth
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film blends mythology with modern storytelling. Actor Vishal Jethwa and Nana Patekar are also expected to play a significant role. His character will bring emotional depth to the narrative, going beyond a typical romantic arc and adding layers to the storyline.
