Dhurandhar Box Office Shutterdown: In a monumental achievement for Indian cinema, the spy thriller Dhurandhar has etched its name into the history books. After eight remarkable weeks in cinemas, the film has become the first Bollywood production to cross the Rs 1,000 crore gross milestone within India. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the mastermind behind Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film arrived in theatres on December 5, 2025.
The film’s journey to the elite Rs 1,000 Crore Club was a steady marathon rather than a sprint. Over its ninth weekend, it added a further Rs 2.9 crore to its tally, bolstered by an additional Rs 1.25 crore on Republic Day (26 January 2026). It was on this 53rd day of its theatrical run that the domestic collection officially surpassed the historic threshold. Currently, the film's gross collection stands at Rs 1002 crore while net collection is Rs 835 crore. The success is largely attributed to incredible word-of-mouth. This strategy paid off handsomely, as the film maintained strong occupancy even as new competitors like Border 2 entered the market.
Dhurandhar now stands alongside only three other films that have crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in India. The movies are Pushpa 2 which collected Rs 1,471 crore (Multi-language), Baahubali 2 with Rs 1,417 crore (Multi-language), and KGF Chapter 2 with Rs 1,001 crore (Multi-language).
