Social media has been flooded with rumours claiming that actress Pooja Hegde was involved in a serious altercation with a Telugu actor during the early days of her career. According to reports, the actress was allegedly subjected to inappropriate behaviour on a pan-India film set and reportedly slapped the actor in response. Some posts went a step further, falsely claiming that Pooja herself revealed the incident in a recent interview. The claims shocked fans, triggered intense online debates, and led to widespread speculation about the identity of the actor involved. However, Pooja Hegde’s team has now issued a firm clarification, dismissing the entire episode as fake.
Reports stated that Pooja Hegde has never spoken about slapping any actor in any interview. Her team clarified that she has not given any recent interview making such claims and that the story circulating online is completely fabricated. According to the statement, the rumours were created purely to mislead people and generate online attention. There is no evidence to support the allegations, and names are being dragged into the controversy without reason.
How Did The Rumour Begin?
Meanhwile, the confusion reportedly began after an old interview of Pooja Hegde resurfaced on social media. In that interview, the actress spoke in general terms about how some people in the film industry cross personal boundaries. She mentioned an incident during a pan-India film shoot where a male actor entered her caravan without permission and behaved inappropriately. Importantly, she did not name the actor, nor did she mention any physical confrontation or slapping. She stated that she firmly objected to the behaviour and decided never to work with that person again. Because Radhe Shyam was one of her biggest pan-India projects, some social media users assumed the actor involved was Prabhas. There is no factual basis for this assumption.

On the other hand, trade analyst Ramesh Bala also addressed the issue and publicly debunked the viral claims. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Rumor Check: The so-called interview attributed to #PoojaHegde going around is 100% fake. Don’t share misleading content!" His statement further reinforced that the interview being circulated online does not exist.

Pooja Hegde has been in the spotlight due to the buzz around her upcoming Tamil film Jana Nayagan, where she stars alongside Thalapathy Vijay. Fans are particularly excited to see the pair reunite after Beast. The film, directed by H Vinoth, has reportedly faced delays due to a legal dispute over its censor certification. It is also being described as Vijay’s final film before entering politics.

On the work front, Pooja Hegde also has several projects lined up. She will next be seen in the Hindi film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring Varun Dhawan.
