South actor-turned-politician Vijay Thalapathy is currently busy campaigning for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. During a high-security election rally, Vijay was seen waving at supporters from a campaign vehicle. Among the crowd, a fan held up a framed wedding photo featuring Vijay, his wife Sangeeta and late actor Vijayakanth.

Noticing the frame, Vijay gestured to the fan to pass it to his security team. He briefly held up the photo, acknowledged the crowd with a thumbs-up, and then returned it to his officer after taking a closer look.

Vijay Thalapathy’s Divorce Rumours With Sangeetha

Vijay Thalapathy has been in the news for his reported separation from his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam. As per reports, Sangeetha filed for divorce in February 2026, seeking to end their 27-year-long marriage. The couple got married in 1999 and has two children together.

In her petition, she reportedly mentioned reasons like infidelity and cruelty. There have also been rumours linking Vijay with actress Trisha Krishnan, although neither of them has responded to these claims publicly.

Apart from his personal life, Vijay is actively preparing for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He plans to contest all 234 seats under his party. The election results are expected to be announced on May 4. His rallies across the state have been drawing huge crowds, showing his growing influence in politics.
