Kajal Aggarwal is stepping into the world of mythology with Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where she will be seen as Mandodari alongside Yash’s Ravana. Speaking exclusively to The Daily Jagran during the promotions of The India Story, the actress shared details about her experience of being part of the ambitious film and also working alongside Yash.

In the Ramayana, Mandodari is remembered as the wise and compassionate queen of Lanka. Despite being Ravana’s wife, she repeatedly advises him to return Sita and choose the path of righteousness.

Kajal Aggarwal said she's an 'avid' follower of Ramayana and has read about all the versions. "It's been a great experience. I've been an avid follower of the Ramayana. I’ve been reading about Ramayana and different stories of different versions written by different people ever since I was a child. So I’m very fascinated by each and every character."

"And of course, to be associated with a film of this magnitude, this larger-than-life sort of a film, is a very thrilling feeling," she added.

Kajal Aggarwal: 'Very Little Screen Space With Yash'

Kajal Aggarwal revealed that fans may not see much of Mandodari in the first part, as her character has a much bigger role in the sequel. The actress also spoke about working with Yash and explained why they have shared only a few scenes so far.

"We've had very few scenes so far because, of course, it’s part one. It's about Ayodhya and Lord Ram. So Mandodari’s relevance is in part two, which we've not even started shooting for as yet," she shared.

Kajal Aggarwal added, "So I share very little screen space with Yash, but it’s been great to work with him."
