Ramayana VFX Controversy: The content creators recently visited the sets of Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic Ramayana. One of them revealed that the producers may have deliberately shared a poor-quality Lord Rama teaser to spark debate. After attending the creators' day on the sets of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, filmmaker Dhruv Parikshit made the assertion.
Dhruv claimed that during the visit, he spoke with a member of the VFX team and was informed that the Ramayana makers had better versions of the scenes from the teaser. The screenshots of the statement quickly went viral on the internet, but he later removed it and shared a new response.
For those who are unaware, several content creators met director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and actors Yash and Ranbir Kapoor during a creators' day held on the Ramayana set earlier this week.
What Is The Ramayana VFX Controversy?
He said that Ramayana seemed 'incredibly immersive' in the comments section of one of those videos when questioned if the VFX work shown to viewers was incomplete.
"I also got a chance to talk to one of their VFX artists. He told me that the creators deliberately uploaded a nerfed version of the Rama glimpse. They had better versions of those scenes, yet they intentionally chose to release the incomplete one. Why? Because discussions and criticism across the internet translate into free marketing," he added.

But by Thursday, Dhruv Parikshit removed that response and added a new one. He stated that a lot of excellent work had already been completed and that work on the VFX was still ongoing.
The conversation takes place some months after the Ramayana's first teaser, Rama, was made public. Many critiqued the teaser's VFX and CGI, as well as the appearance of some of the demons that Lord Rama was shown battling, whilst praising its scale and majesty. Later, the Ramayana team promised that all issues would be fixed before its theatrical release.

The first chapter of the two-part movie saga is scheduled to premiere on the big screens during Diwali 2026. With an astronomical budget reportedly exceeding Rs 4,000 crore over both portions, the production is among the most costly in Indian cinema.
