Rajinikanth, after ruling the Indian film industry with some of the most iconic movies, is now moving towards telling his own tale of hard work, dedication and success through an autobiography. The official announcement of the same was made by his daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth. She not only gave an early glimpse of the book but also shared what the audience can expect from the project. Earlier, director Lokesh Kanagaraj also confirmed the news, sharing a sweet behind-the-scenes moment.

The news of Rajinikanth writing his autobiography has been making headlines for quite some time now. The rumours of the project were confirmed when the director of his movie Coolie revealed that the actor used to ‘write every day’ on the sets of the movie, during a promotional event.

Now, Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, has given a massive update on his autobiography. In a conversation with Galatta, she revealed, “For our dear Thalaiva, the man who paved his own way through hard work, Rajini sir has already begun writing his life history, beginning from his struggles as a bus conductor in Bengaluru to becoming a superstar in Kollywood.”

While talking about what to expect from the book, Soundarya revealed that the project focuses on important moments in Rajinikanth's life, major turning points and all the things that his fans always wanted to know. She stated, "The book would narrate the important turning points in his life that people are curious to know."

Furthermore, Soundarya shared, "His autobiography will give insight into his journey and the effort he has put in for every single role and in his life. It will be a global sensation."

Rajinikanth's 2025 film Coolie emerged as a commercial hit and earned a gross of Rs 500 crores, despite receiving mixed reviews from the audience. Thalaiva is currently gearing up for two back-to-back action films, Jailer 2 and Thalaivar 173. The highly anticipated sequel to his 2023 hit film Jailer is all set to hit the theatres on June 12, 2026.
