The much-awaited trailer of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana was expected to release for the public on Friday, July 24, 2026. After being showcased to selected media members and fans in Delhi last week, excitement around the film had reached a new high. However, just hours before the scheduled launch, producer Namit Malhotra announced that the trailer had been postponed. He also revealed that the delay came because of a major international milestone for the film.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Trailer Postponed After Major Announcement
On Thursday, Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra took part in a special panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer was scheduled to release soon after the event, but Namit took to Instagram to announce that it would now be released at a later date.
He wrote, "Today is a very special moment for our 'Ramayana', my dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date."
Sony Pictures To Distribute Ramayana Worldwide
Namit said that partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment will help Ramayana reach audiences across the globe like a major Hollywood release.
He added, "In over 100 years of Indian cinema this will become a moment of great pride where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film. This is special as it opens the door for people of the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm."
Netizens Reaction On Ramayana Trailer Postponement
Reacting to the announcement, fans and netizens left disappointed. One user wrote, “Bad marketing, sara mood kharab, no excitement left.” A second user wrote, “I don't know but nowadays Hype banao air postpone kar do. New strategy aayi hai market me.”
Meanwhile a third person commented, “This is the worst decision.” Similarly, almost every fan who was excited for the trailer seems now disappointed with no excitement left.
About The Film Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is planned as a two-part epic. The first installment is scheduled to release in theatres this November. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi and Kunal Kapoor.
