Mega South actor turned Tamil Nadu CM Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited film Jana Nayagan has started its box office journey on a strong note. Released on July 23, 2026, the political action drama has received an enthusiastic response from fans in India and overseas. Marking Vijay's final film before stepping into full-time politics, the movie has collected impressive numbers on its opening day.
Jana Nayagan Day 1 Box Office Collection In India
The film collected an estimated Rs 41 crore net in India on its first day. The Tamil version contributed the highest share with Rs 36.50 crore and recorded around 60% theatre occupancy. The Telugu version earned Rs 2.75 crore, while the Hindi dubbed version added Rs 1.75 crore to the total.
Including taxes, the film's domestic gross collection reached ₹48.27 crore on its opening day.
Jana Nayagan Strong Overseas Performance
Jana Nayagan also performed well in international markets. The film collected around Rs 30 crore gross overseas, reflecting Vijay's popularity among global audiences. With both domestic and overseas earnings combined, the worldwide opening day collection stands at an impressive Rs 78.27 crore gross.
Trade experts believe the film could continue its successful run over the weekend if the positive response from audiences remains strong.
