Farah Khan is all set to take the director's chair once again after a long hiatus. Her last film was Happy New Year, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, and Boman Irani and was released in 2014. The rom-com became a massive box office success. Even without directing films, the choreographer-director continued to captivate the internet with her humorous YouTube vlogs, and many fans have been waiting for her next film.  Farah recently announced that she will be returning to direction soon and also hinted at a reunion with her close friend Shah Rukh Khan.

In her latest YouTube vlog, Farah visited actor Nakuul Mehta’s Mumbai home, when the actor mentioned that he really misses the genre of films that Farah used to make. Confirming her directorial comeback, she responded, “Abhi banaungi main! Abhi bachche chaley jayenge na college fir banaungi! There is a whole petition on the internet called wapas aao Farah Khan (I will make a film soon! My kids are going to college so I will make after that. There is a whole petition for me to return to direction)! So I think it is time, I think end of this year I will start.”

When Nakuul asked whether YouTube will also produce her next film, Farah replied, “If I do (direct her film), I will do it will Shah Rukh! Otherwise, I will wait and do YouTube.”

This statement has sparked excitement among fans, as Farah and SRK have delivered major hits together. She made her directorial debut with Main Hoon Na in 2004, starring Shah Rukh in the lead role. Then, they collaborated on Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year.
