The spy action series Citadel: Honey Bunny starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan received positive reviews from critics and audiences after it was released on Prime Video. Amid all the success on the OTT platform, the web show is all set to make a name on the global stage as it has bagged a nomination at the 30th Critics Choice Award. It will be competing in the Best Foreign Language Series category with others including Acapulco, La Maquina, The Law According To Lidia Poet, My Brilliant Friend, Pachinko, Senna and Squid Game.
The creators of the show, Raj and DK shared this exciting news of the nomination on their Instagram handle. Along with the post, they wrote, "This is incredible! Citadel is a spin-off of the original series featuring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville. The Hindi-language spy action starred Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. The show is directed by the duo Raj & DK, who also co-wrote the script with Sita R. Menon. Adding depth to the narrative, it also featured Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Sikandar Kher, Saqib Saleem, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, and Thalaivaasal Vijay in significant roles.
Citadel: Honey Bunny was released on Prime Video in India on November 6, 2024 and has been receiving an overwhelming response from the viewers. This was the first time, Varun and Samantha shared the screen space. The audience loved this new pair on screen.
