Stree 2: The much-awaited sequel to the 2018 hit Stree has finally made its way to theatres, stirring up excitement among fans. With Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi leading the cast, Stree 2 has become the talk of the town, not just for its engaging storyline but also for some unexpected connections to Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor.
As viewers flocked to social media to share their thoughts and snapshots from the film, several intriguing links to Ranbir Kapoor’s previous work have been uncovered. One of the most talked-about references is a dialogue that closely mirrors a line from Ranbir’s film Rockstar. The dialogue in Stree 2 goes, "Pata hai… Yahan se bahut door, galat aur sahi ke paar, ek maidan hai, main wahaan milunga tujhe," which echoes a famous line from Rockstar and has delighted fans of both films.
Another noteworthy reference comes during a mid-credits scene, where Abhishek Banerjee's character, Jana, tries to calm down an overexcited Bhediya/Bhaskar, played by Varun Dhawan in a special appearance. Jana says, "Tu Bhediya hai, Animal mat bann," a line that had the audience chuckling.
Additionally, there's a playful nod to Ranbir's iconic song Channa Mereya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. A character in Stree 2 quips, "Log mujhe Channa Mereya bulate hai," adding another layer of humour and connection to Ranbir's work.
These clever references have added an extra dimension to Stree 2, making it even more enjoyable for fans of Bollywood. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film hit theatres on August 15, blending horror and comedy in a way that has resonated with audiences. Adding to the excitement is a special cameo by Akshay Kumar, sparking speculation about whether he might take on a full-fledged horror-comedy role in the Maddock universe in the future. While the makers haven't confirmed anything yet, fans are already eagerly hoping for more.
