Thalapathy Vijay's political debut has currently been the talk of the town. The 'Leo' actor recently met the members of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam at his Panaiyur office in Chennai on July 11, and since then the actor is brewing headlines with his political debut across the internet.
Now, the rumor mill states that Thalapathy Vijay will be going on a padayatra across Tamil Nadu ahead of his film 'Leo's release with rumors of taking a permanent break from the film fraternity. However, there is no confirmation on either of the above from the actor's team.
In June 2023, Thalapathy Vijay facilitated class 10 and 12 toppers from all 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, creating rumors of his political entry. Now, with his Panaiyur house meeting with the Makkal Iyakkam members, the actor is planning to start a padayatra across the state.
Vijay is likely to quit films or will take a three-year-long break after he takes the big plunge into politics. However, the actor will first complete all his pending projects starting with Venkat Prabhu's film, and will then concentrate completely on politics.
According to a report in India Today, Thalapathy Vijay will float his political party in 2024 and will contest the elections in 2026. Talking about his professional front, the actor will next be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo.'
The film is touted to be an action-thriller and is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. It will hit theaters on October 19 and also features Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Menon, and Mysskin in pivotal roles. He will next start shooting for Venkat Prabhu's untitled project and will reportedly be teaming up with director Shankar for his next project.
