'Poz Thozhil' star R. Sarathkumar is one of the biggest leading actors in Tamil cinema. Contributing highly to the industry as hero, villain, supporting actor, producer, and now as the Nadigar Sangam President, the actor-politician has a renowned name and influence across the industry.

Sarathkumar has given some unforgettable performances in his career and also is actively involved in politics with his own party. However, very few people know that before entering into cinema, Sarathkumar worked as a paper delivery boy.

After completing his Bachelor's degree, Sarathkumar became a bodybuilder and won the 'Mr. Madras University' title in 1974. He then moved to Bangalore and started working as a paperboy distributing newspapers to shops. However, later on with his hard work, he graduated to become a reporter for a newspaper and also started his own business and ran a travel agency in Chennai.

A producer friend of the actor convinced him to enter into the profession of acting, where he made his debut in 1986, in the Telugu film 'Samajamlo Sthree.' In 1988 he then featured in and produced his film 'Kan Simittum Neram' and also maintained his tourism business in Chennai.

Standing as one of the highest-paid Tamil actors in South cinema and receiving three Filmfare South Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. According to OTTList portal, the actor has a whopping net worth of Rs 159 crore approximately, and charges Rs 4 crore per film.

R Sarathkumar was last seen in 'Por Thozhil' directed by Vignesh Raja. The film released on June 9, and is a Tamil language action-thriller. Talking about his professional front, the actor has 'Bandra', a Malayalam release in the pipeline. He also has four Tamil releases in his kitty, titled 'Criminal', 'The Smile Man', 'Paramporul', and 'Nirangal Moondru' respectively.
