Passengers of the Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) will now be charged fares based on the distance they travel, instead of the earlier system linked to the number of bus stops. The revised fare structure came into effect on September 24, following approval at the GMCBL board meeting held on September 16, 2025.
Under the new system, commuters will pay Rs 10 for journeys up to 6 km, Rs 20 for distances between 6 km and 13 km, and Rs 30 for travel beyond 13 km.
GMCBL CEO Vishwajeet Chaudhary said the new fare model ensures convenience, transparency, and fairness for passengers. He urged citizens to opt for public transport over private vehicles to promote sustainable and eco-friendly mobility in the city.

Currently, GMCBL operates 150 modern, eco-friendly buses across 21 routes. The buses are equipped with GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and e-ticketing machines, ensuring safe and reliable travel for thousands of commuters daily. Information about routes and fares is available on the Gurugraman App, which also provides online ticketing services.
Officials confirmed that new electric buses will be added to the fleet this year, along with expanded routes to improve connectivity across the city.

The GMCBL’s move is expected to make city travel more systematic, affordable, and commuter-friendly while reducing dependence on private vehicles.
