Manesar’s first city bus depot is set to come up in the Naharpur-Kasan area, paving the way for significantly improved public transport access for thousands of commuters across Sectors 80-95 of New Gurugram and nearly 30 villages in Manesar.
At present, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) operates two depots, in Sector 10 and Sector 54, while a modern electric-bus depot is under fast construction in Sector 48. With rapid population growth and expansion of new sectors, officials said a large depot in Manesar had become essential.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is also building a city bus depot in Sector 103 along the Dwarka Expressway. An earlier proposal to construct a depot on 9.2 acres in Bhangrola village was cancelled due to inadequate road access. Subsequently, two alternative sites in Naharpur-Kasan were examined, and an 11.3-acre HSIDC-owned plot has been found suitable. GMDA will now submit a land acquisition proposal to HSIDC.
Gurugram currently operates 150 city buses, and the launch of 400 new electric buses has been announced. With plans for four new bus depots, officials say the Manesar facility will particularly benefit industrial and residential belts between Sectors 81 and 115, which currently lack proper bus parking, maintenance infrastructure, and route scheduling.
Residents say a city bus depot has been a long-pending demand. Once operational, the depot will support more frequent services, additional routes, and improved reliability, especially for students, office-goers, and industrial workers.
The depot will include parking spaces, charging stations for e-buses, a maintenance workshop, and a driver convenience centre. Officials say the project will strengthen public transport in Manesar and New Gurugram while reducing dependence on private vehicles.
