The closure of the cut (turn) at Kisan Chowk near Jakhoda village on the Delhi-Rohtak National Highway has become a major source of trouble. While the police administration argues that this step was taken to make the area congestion-free, villagers and drivers gathered on Wednesday to express their outrage. They later submitted a memorandum to SDM Abhinav Siwach regarding the issue.

4-km Detour And Wasted Fuel

Due to the closure of the cut, the situation is such that drivers heading from Bahadurgarh towards Rohtak now have to take an additional detour of about four kilometers to reach their destination. People state that this is causing a waste of both time and fuel, in addition to the general inconvenience.

Safety Concerns And Wrong-Side Driving

Demanding the reopening of the chowk’s cut, residents pointed out that this is the most important intersection at the end of the bypass. They argued that closing this cut has increased the risk of accidents. Compared to before, more vehicles have started driving on the wrong side of the road. Residents warned that closing the cut in this manner is not correct and could lead to a major accident at any time.

Villagers from Jakhoda stated that daily travel difficulties have escalated. Now, vehicles heading towards Rohtak from the old Delhi-Rohtak road have to first come back to Kasar Chowk on the bypass. Transporters added that maneuvering and turning large vehicles at this spot has become difficult. Locals allege that instead of streamlining the system, the traffic police are harassing the public.

Police Issue Traffic Advisory

The police stated that work is in progress at Kisan Chowk with the objective of improving the traffic system in Bahadurgarh city. The traffic police have appealed to all drivers for cooperation, advising them to avoid Kisan Chowk while travelling from Bahadurgarh to Rohtak to prevent inconvenience.

Drivers are advised to use the Bahadurgarh bypass instead. This will help avoid unnecessary traffic jams and ensure the public does not face any trouble. The police have requested all drivers to follow traffic rules, use alternative routes, and cooperate with the instructions given.

Official Statement

Bahadurgarh Traffic Police SHO Satish Kumar, explained, "Daily traffic jams were occurring at Kisan Chowk, which is why the cut has been closed. The high-mast light at this location will also be shifted from the middle of the road to the side. The cut has been closed temporarily for now; if needed, it will be opened."
