The names of several prominent individuals, including Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath and actor Shiva Rajkumar were 'unmapped' in the earlier election records, officials informed on Wednesday. This comes as the the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is underway.
According to Bengaluru South City Corporation officials, the names of Nandan Nilekani and his family members are among the Election Commission notices issued under the 'no-mapping' category.
These notices were issued because his name was not found in the 2002 voter list. However, it s still not clear whether these notices were sent to Nilekani or his family.
BSCC Commissioner Ramesh KN said officials will check any discrepancies in the records and rectify them, wherever necessary, without issuing notices.

The draft voter list for Karnataka was released on August 24. According to this list, the names of more than 10 million people have been removed from the voter list.
Irregularities were also found in the cases of Nandan Nilekani and Nikhil Kamath. Kannada film actor Shivarajkumar's name was also found in the 2002 voter list and the system generated a notice for hearing.
However, he did not need to go to the GBA office with the documents. Election officials conducted the verification at his home.
Special Arrangements For VIPs During SIR
A senior Election Commission official said, "We have a provision for VIPs to complete the process without attending the hearing. The concerned BLO will go to their homes and complete the process."
This category includes judges, MPs and MLAs, senior leaders, bureaucrats and people from the sports and film world.
EC's Clarification On Notice To Prof CNR Rao
The Election Commission (EC) also clarified that an error was found in the name of Bharat Ratna awardee and renowned scientist Prof CNR Rao in Bengaluru's electoral records.
Following a controversy, the EC issued the clarification on Wednesday.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), quoting its Chief Commissioner and Bengaluru Urban District Election Officer M Maheshwar Rao, said, "No notice has been issued to Bharat Ratna (awardee) Prof CNR Rao in connection with the SIR of the voter list in Malleswaram Assembly constituency."
The GBA said, "A discrepancy was noticed in the name of this respected person in the voter list. Considering this, the Booth Level Officer (BLO) has recommended inclusion of his name in the final voter list, without issuing any notice, considering him a respected person."
