Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express: Travellers between Punjab and West Bengal have a new reason to celebrate as Indian Railways gears up to launch commercial operations of the Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Amrit Bharat Express. This new service is set to significantly strengthen rail connectivity between the two regions.
While the Amrit Bharat Express offers a travel experience similar to Vande Bharat, it is designed as a more affordable alternative for passengers from the lower and lower-middle income categories.

Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express: Key Details
- The Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express will run as train numbers 14664/14663.
- In an official notification dated May 11, Indian Railways stated that the service will run on a weekly basis between the two states.
- The train is scheduled to depart from Amritsar every Thursday and from New Jalpaiguri every Saturday.
Timings
- According to a report by The Indian Express, Train No. 14664 (Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express) will leave Amritsar every Thursday at 12:45 PM and arrive in New Jalpaiguri on Saturday at 4:15 AM.
- On the return journey, Train No. 14663 (New Jalpaiguri-Amritsar Amrit Bharat Express) will depart from New Jalpaiguri every Saturday at 8:00 AM and reach Amritsar at 2:20 AM on Monday.
