In a fit of rage, a 52-year-old man killed his wife with a sickle in the early hours of Friday in Bengaluru's Banaswadi. The man killed his wife during an argument at their home in Subbaiahnapalya, Banaswadi.
The deceased, identified as 47-year-old Kalavani, was the second wife of the accused named Ramesh. Ramesh worked as a carpenter.
The neighbours alerted the Banaswadi night patrol, but the accused had already surrendered to the police after committing the crime.
As per the Times of India report, the police escorted Ramesh to the scene where Kalavani's body, with multiple sharp wounds on the neck, was lying. The police then interrogated Ramesh, who confessed to the crime and said that the couple were having trouble in their domestic life.

Kalavni was married to widower Ramesh 12 years ago after her first husband died. Together, Kalavani and Ramesh had a son. Ramesh also has two daughters from his first marriage.
As per the reports, tensions between the couple started after Kalavani refused to take care of Ramesh's daughters, which prompted him to send them to his parents.
With each visit to his daughters, Kalavani used to argue with Ramesh. After one such visit on Thursday, the argument followed. During the heated argument, Kalavani accused him of having an illicit relationship with his daughters.
Enraged by the sheer accusations, Ramesh stated that he lost his calm and attacked her. The police have registered a case, and the family of Kalavani has been informed.
