Bengaluru News: A 34-year-old private firm employee was found dead in Bengaluru in a suspicious condition inside her rented house on Monday night. Pooja Dutta, originally from Jharkhand's Dhanbad, had been living in the apartment for the past three years. The house owner stated that Dutta's body was recovered after the neighbouring tenants complained of a foul smell from her apartment. The officials stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem, adding that the exact reason behind the incident will be disclosed soon.
The officials, while providing details, stated that her body was found in a naked and decomposed state, suggesting that she had died three to four days ago. The police also stated that the body was found in a pool of blood, adding that torn papers were scattered in the room. While the exact reasons have not been disclosed yet, she may have died by suicide after locking the door from inside, reported PTI.

"She had been working at a private firm and left her job in March 2025. We found torn papers scattered across the room, and the old company ID card was recovered from the spot," an officer was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
The house owner has alleged that the deceased was often visited by a young man, further claiming that they argued very frequently. "She was often visited by a young man, and they would frequently argue. However, the reason for their disputes was not known. After that, she was not seen. Neighbors informed us about the foul smell," the house owner told the publication.
"When we opened the door, she was lying naked in a pool of blood, and the body was badly decomposed," she added. The police stated that a case of suspicious death has been registered, adding that more details will be disclosed soon.
