Bengaluru To Belagavi Vande Bharat: The much-anticipated Vande Bharat Express service between Bengaluru and Belagavi is set to begin operations soon. This announcement was made by V Somanna, the Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, who confirmed the extension of the train service from Dharwad To Belagavi.
The decision follows a formal request from several officials, including Pralhad Joshi, the Minister of Consumer Affairs, alongside MPs Jagadish Shettar and Iranna Kadadi. Somanna expressed his excitement on social media platform X, stating, “The Vande Bharat Express service between Bengaluru and Belagavi will commence shortly.”
The railway minister noted that the approval for this new service came in response to increasing passenger demand. He highlighted that the extension of the existing Bengaluru-Dharwad route to Belagavi was a significant step forward for regional connectivity.
Pralhad Joshi also took to X to express his gratitude, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support. He referred to the new train service as a “big boost to connectivity and development in North Karnataka.”
Details regarding the official date and schedule for the train's commencement will be announced shortly. Somanna shared a letter from Vaishnaw, confirming the plans for the new Bengaluru-Belagavi service. The letter mentioned that the train would start its journey from Belagavi in the morning.
Currently, the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in June 2023, connects several key stations, including KSR Bengaluru City Junction, Yesvantpur Junction and Dharwad. The addition of the Belagavi route is expected to enhance travel options in the region.
