Bengaluru News: A 16-Year-Old boy from Bengaluru was allegedly assaulted and blackmailed on April 5 by a group of minors he met through social media. The victim, a class 10 student at a private school, was lured to parking area near Wilson Garden, where he was attacked and coerced into stripping and recording a false confession on video.
According to his mother’s complaint, the boy had informed her he was going to a friend’s house that day. He returned home later, visibly distressed and locked himself in his room. Concerned, his mother eventually persuaded him to share what had happened.
According to a Times Of India report, the boy revealed that he had been threatened by five other minors, who were not his schoolmates or local friends. They demanded he confess on camera that he had taken inappropriate pictures of girls and extorted money from them. After recording this false statement, they threatened to release the video online unless he paid them Rs 10,000.
Bengaluru Teen Assaulted
The harassment began when a boy, whom the victim had known for several months through social media, approached him after spotting him riding a scooter. He manipulated the victim into meeting him, leading to the attack.
During their meeting, He led the boy to the parking lot where his friends were waiting. There, the group threatened him with a stick and forced him to undress. They recorded the video and subsequently threatened to share it with his peers unless he paid them.

The victim’s mother stated that she delayed reporting the incident out of fear for her son's safety. She also alleged that a female friend of her son had incited the attack, encouraging one of the boys involved, to target him.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under multiple sections, including extortion and wrongful restraint, as well as relevant clauses of the IT Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Officials are working to locate the suspects, who have reportedly gone into hiding. No arrests have been made so far.
