Jagran Correspondent, Motihari (East Champaran) | A Bihar Police Constable, Ashish Tiwari, was suspended over his controversial social media post, following the Bharat Tiwari encounter, which took place in Bilauti village, Bhojpur district. Action has been taken against Ashish, who is posted in Motihari.

Action Against Constable For Revenge Video

He allegedly threatened revenge by releasing a video on social media after the encounter. East Champaran Superintendent of Police (SP) Swaran Prabhat took prompt action and suspended the Constable with immediate effect.

Furthermore, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Champaran Range, Harkishor Rai, has sent a recommendation to Police Headquarters to dismiss the constable from service, citing his serious and unruly conduct.

The investigation has also revealed that Constable Ashish is not even a distant relative, contrary to his claim of being Bharat's brother.

Local Watchman Exposes The Truth

SP Prabhat said when the claims of Constable Ashish, who claimed to be the deceased's brother and vowed revenge on the internet, were verified, the truth turned out to be something else. Motihari police released the written statement of the local watchman from Bilauti village in Bhojpur. According to this verification report, Constable Ashish and Bharat are indeed residents of the same village, but there is no family relationship between them, such as brother or cousin.

Sensational and misleading information was spread on social media by claiming the two were brothers.

Constable Accused Of Previously Wielding Knife And Pointing Gun

Suspended constable has a highly tainted past record. He has already been embroiled in several serious controversies.

Knife Attack on a Colleague: On January 7, 2023, while posted as a reserve guard at Harpur police station in East Champaran, Ashish was accused of stabbing and injuring fellow Home Guard Suresh Ram. Departmental action was taken in this case, and his increment was withheld for one year.

Pointing a Revolver at a Duty Officer: On August 17, 2024, while posted at Piprakothi police station, Ashish not only behaved indecently with an on-duty officer but also fired at him with his service revolver. Following a departmental inquiry under case number 173/24, he was punished with a two-year pay increase.
