In a major update for the residents, Bihar cabinet has approved the long-pending Ganga and Narayani Pathway project. The officials stated that the project will boost the regional connectivity and will provide convenience to the residents by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion. Along with boosting the connectivity, the key project will also improve financial activities in several districts, including Gopalganj, Siwan, and Chhapra.

While providing details, the officials stated that the total length of the project will be about 163 kilometres, adding that approximately Rs 12,000 crore will be spent on this ambitious project. Under this project, 73.51 kilometers long road will be constructed from Darihara in Saran district to Dumariya Ghat in Gopalganj.

The officials further stated that 90 kilometers long road will be constructed from Koilwar in Bhojpur to Buxar, providing major relief to the residents. The project will ensure direct and rapid connectivity from Patna to the border regions.

Baikunthpur MLA Mithilesh Tiwari stated that the construction of the pathway would boost commercial activities, facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce, and will also provide a boost to the tourism. Apart from this, the project would increase employment opportunities for local youth, he added.

Earlier during the second session of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tiwari prominently raised this issue. He highlighted the need for seamless connectivity from Patna to Dumariya and from Koilwar to Buxar by stating that it will significantly boost the financial activities.

In a separate news, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday formally entered the race for a vacant seat in the Bihar Legislative Council, with its candidate Arvind Sharma filing his nomination.

Sharma was accompanied during the nomination process by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and several senior leaders from NDA constituent parties, showcasing a strong show of support.Polling for the vacant seat is scheduled to be held on May 12.
