Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. Along with rainfall, these regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning for the next few days. The continuous rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heat. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.
As per the advisory issued by the weather department, the southwest monsoon, which had been stalled in Muzaffarpur for the past few days, spread to other cities, including Patna, Gaya, Jamui, Sheikhpura, and Nawada on Monday. It further stated that the monsoon is expected to spread to the remaining districts of the state over the next two to three days.
The arrival of the monsoon in the key cities like Patna and Gaya got delayed by several days, as the usual arrival timing is June 15. The monsoon is expected to reach other districts of the state, including Chhapra, Buxar, Aurangabad, Gopalganj, and Bhojpur, within two to three days. The fresh rainfall is likely to provide relief to the residents, but it will also lead to waterlogging in the lower regions.
As per the weather department, several regions of Patna and other districts received rainfall due to the arrival of the monsoon. The IMD stated that cloudy skies are expected in Patna and other parts of the state on Tuesday, with thunderstorms and rain expected in 11 districts. It asserted that temperature across the state is expected to drop by one to two degrees.
Earlier on Monday, the maximum temperature of Patna dropped four degrees to 36.9 degrees Celsius, providing major relief to the residents. The farmers have been advised to limit their outings and financial activities during the rainfall and lightning.
