BJP’s Matua And Dalit Card In Bengal

By including faces like Kalita Maji, Dibakar Gharami and Nadiar Chand Bouri, BJP has given the message to the Matua and Rajbanshi voters of Bengal that they have a direct share in power.

North Bengal And Tea Plantations

The inclusion of Shankar Ghosh, Anandamoy Barman, Vishal Lama and Malati Rava Roy shows that North Bengal, which has always supported the BJP, will now become the centre of the main policy-making process of the state.

Jangalmahal Tribal Leadership

The entry of Joyel Murmu and Amiya Kisku into the cabinet will further institutionalise the BJP's hold in the tribal districts of Bengal bordering Jharkhand and Odisha.

Administrative And Political Challenges

This cabinet headed by Suvendu Adhikari faces many challenges. After 15 years of Mamata Banerjee's rule, his top priority will be to free the administrative machinery from politics.
restructuring of law and order

The biggest test for the new Home Minister will be implementing a zero tolerance policy against post-poll violence and extortion (cut-money) at the local level.

Economic Crisis And The Treasury

The state is under a heavy debt burden. Attracting industrial investment while continuing with populist schemes would be treading a tightrope for the Finance Ministry.

Smooth Functioning Of Welfare Schemes

Free bus service has been started for women across the state and they are being given 'zero balance' tickets, delivering such schemes directly to the beneficiaries without any corruption will ensure the credibility of the government.

What Did Bengal Cabinet Expansion Indicate?

Through this major expansion of 35 ministers, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has given a clear signal to the Trinamool Congress and other opposition parties that his government is not just a makeshift arrangement but has come with the resolve to serve a full and stable tenure of five years.

The cabinet rank of leaders like Tapas Roy and Arjun Singh will ensure that any aggressive stance of the opposition within the Assembly can be given a befitting and legislative response.
