The liquor shops in Chandigarh are offering huge discounts for buyers in an attempt to clear the stock before April 1. As a result, large crowds are gathering at the liquor stores in UT.
The price drop in Chandigarh is significant in itself as the UT already sells the cheapest booze as compared to nearby states like Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. The liquor shops are lowering the price as with the advent of the new financial year, the new liquor policy will be implemented and the prices will be revised.
Premium brands at nearly half the price
As per News18 reports, all big brands, including Indri, Black Dog, Teachers, Blender’s Pride, Solan Gold, and 100 Pipers, are selling at significant discounts. Red Label is being sold at Rs 750. Royal Stag, Solan Black, Bacardi Black, Royal Challenger, and All Seasons, among other bottles, are being sold at Rs 300 at some stores.
Moreover, bottles like Old Monk, Solan Number One are being sold at the strikingly low price of Rs 250.
Among premium liquor brands, Antiquity Blue, Rockford Reserve, Blender’s Pride Reserve, and Amrut are being sold for Rs 600 each. At Rs 450, a buyer can purchase flavoured Vodka, Signature, and Smirnoff at liquor stores in the UT. Moreover, Indri and Godawan Rich are available for Rs 2,200 as compared to Rs 3,000 and Rs 3,500.
The price of Black Dog Deluxe fell to Rs 1,300 while Black Dog (DEN) can be purchased at Rs 1000. Similarly, 100 Pipers and 100 Pipers (8 Years) are also available for Rs 1,300 and Rs 1,000, respectively.
It must be noted that the liquor policy in every state and UT is revised annually. As per the policy changes, the prices and other regulations face effects, therefore, the liquor stores often offer discounts at the end of the financial year. Akin to Chandigarh, Noida stores are also offering discounts due to which the huge crowd could be seen outside shops in the NCR city.
