Liquor Discount In Noida:  A liquor shop in Noida's Sector 18 sparked a frenzy when it launched a sale offering one bottle per customer and getting another free. The excitement quickly escalated, with a video from the shop circulating widely on social media, showing a chaotic rush to buy the limited stock.

The rush was fueled by a promotional offer to clear out inventory before the end of March. In the 19-second clip, a long line of customers can be seen outside the shop, many carrying bottles and crates of liquor, with some balancing boxes on their heads.

Customers were seen handing cash to purchase bottles, while others tried to buy entire crates. The Excise Department has since ordered an inquiry into the incident.

In the background of the video, voices can be heard urging, "Corona lockdown is being imposed from tomorrow, buy today, and take advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free offer." This promotion was part of efforts to clear stock before the 31st of March deadline.

Subodh Kumar Srivastava, the District Excise Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar, confirmed that the incident involving the crowd at the Sector 18 liquor shop is under investigation. He stated that the Excise Inspector has been instructed to look into the matter, emphasising that no such guidelines or instructions have been issued by the department regarding this promotion.

Regarding the offer, Srivastava explained that it was initiated by the contractors as a strategy to clear remaining stock before the March 31 deadline. After that date, any unsold liquor will be confiscated by the department.

Last Friday, liquor enthusiasts in Uttar Pradesh received exciting news with the announcement of the New Excise Policy. To clear out old stock, foreign liquor was being sold at half price. This sparked a rush at nearby shops, with crowds of people eagerly taking advantage of the offer. Some even purchased entire crates of liquor for home. Under the new policy, liquor shops allotted through an e-lottery will begin operations from April 1.
