The Gurugram Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters travelling via the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.
As per the advisory, vehicles from the highway will be diverted to another route due to the construction of the upper part of the foot over bridge (FOB) being built by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) in Narsinghpur.
The route diversion will be implemented from midnight on Wednesday to 6 am on Thursday.
Route diversions
Vehicles heading from Delhi to Jaipur will have to take a left turn from Hero Honda Chowk, then turn right from Subhash Chowk red light. With another right from Vatika Chowk. Going straight will connect the road to reach the highway via the SPR and Dwarka Road.
Vehicles going from Jaipur to Delhi will cross Kherki Daula toll and use the Dwarka Expressway from the highway.
Vehicles coming to Gurugram from Jaipur will go through the same Dwarka Expressway, take a U-turn from Elan Chowk, use SPR Road, turn left from Vatika Chowk, and reach Rajiv Chowk.
When will it open for the public?
According to GMDA officials, the FOB will be ready by March 31. First, the work of connecting its upper part will be done. After this, the stairs will be installed. There are preparations to open it to the public from April 1.
Why was FOB necessary?
The FOB was an unavoidable requirement for the safety of people. In past five years, more than 15 deaths have occurred in Narsinghpur due to jumping over the grill of the highway.
Moreover, many corporate offices are located in Narsinghpur and Kherki Daula area, having thousands of workers. In the absence of FOB, they face difficulty crossing the road. Many pedestrians have been hit by vehicles while crossing the highway.
