Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Ahead of the 'Padwa Melava' rally organised by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) at Shivaji Park in Dadar, the Mumbai Police have issued a traffic advisory to manage expected congestion. The annual event, led by Raj Thackeray, will take place on March 30, 2025 and is anticipated to draw a large number of supporters from across Maharashtra.

According to a Mid-Day report, the police are preparing for significant traffic on both the Western and Eastern Express Highways due to the influx of vehicles heading to the rally. To prevent any disruption or inconvenience to the public, a traffic management order has been put in place. Samadhan Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Traffic (H.Q. & Central), announced that the traffic order will be effective from 1:00 PM to midnight on the day of the event.

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Parking Facilities

The advisory specifies several roads where parking will not be permitted, including:

S.V.S. Road (from Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction to Yes Bank Junction)

Keluskar Road (North and South), Dadar

M.B. Raut Marg

Pandurang Naik Marg (Road No. 5)

Dadasaheb Rege Marg

Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg (from Shivaji Park Gate No. 4 to Shitaladevi Temple Junction)

N.C. Kelkar Marg (from Gadkari Junction to Hanuman Temple Junction), Dadar

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Alternative Routes

Traffic will be regulated on several key routes:

S.V.S. Road: From Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction to Yes Bank Junction.

Alternate Route: Siddhivinayak Junction to S.K. Bole Road, Agar Bazar, Portuguese Church, left turn to Gokhale Road, then onto L.J. Road.

Raja Badhe Chowk: Up to Keluskar Road (North) Junction, Dadar.

Alternate Route: L.J. Road, Gokhale Road, Steelman Junction right turn towards S.V.S.

Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg: From its junction on Pandurang Naik Road for southbound traffic.

Alternate Route: From Raja Badhe Junction towards L.J. Road.

Gadkari Chowk: Junction to Keluskar Road (North and South), Dadar.

Alternate Route: Motorists should use M.B. Raut Marg.

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Guidelines For Rally Participants

The police have also provided guidance for participants travelling from various areas for the MNS rally. They should drop attendees at designated points and use specified parking facilities afterwards:

Western and Northern Suburbs: Vehicles coming from these areas via the Western Express Highway should drop participants on Senapati Bapat Road, between Matunga Railway Station and Ruparel College. Parking is available at Mahim Reti Bunder, India Bulls Finance Centre PPL parking, Kamagar Stadium, and on Senapati Bapat Road. Light motor vehicles may park at Kohinoor PPL Parking.

Eastern Suburbs: Vehicles from Thane and Navi Mumbai using the Eastern Express Highway should drop participants near Dadar T.T. Circle and then proceed to park at Five Gardens, Matunga, and R.A.K. 4 Roads.

City and South Mumbai: Vehicles from South Mumbai using Veer Savarkar Road should drop participants at Ravindranath Natya Mandir and park at India Bulls Finance Centre PPL parking or Aappasaheb Marathe Marg. Alternatively, vehicles using B.A. Road should drop participants at Dadar T.T. Circle and park at designated areas like Five Gardens or R.A.K. 4 Road.
