The Uttarakhand government announced a set of rules and regulations as the Chardham Yatra 2024 is set to commence on May 10. The authorities have announced a ban on vehicular movement between 10 pm and 4 am on the pilgrimage route throughout the Chardham Yatra for the safety and security in the journey. Additionally, to maintain the sanctity and minimise distractions, playing loud music or songs in cabs on travel routes has also been prohibited.

A detailed timetable has been made for the Yatra, with the duration for visiting one Dham set at three days, two Dhams at five days, three Dhams at seven days and all four Char Dham Yatra at ten days. The Transport Department has proactively communicated these regulations to all neighbouring states.
