Chennai Power Cut: TANGEDCO has announced a shutdown in multiple areas in Chennai on Saturday, January 3 in view of maintenance work. The power supply cut will occur from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. TANGEDCO has advised residents to plan their day in advance to avoid inconvenience.
Chennai Power Cut Affected Areas
MMDA Colony - From A-Block through R-Block, Kamala Nehru Nagar 1st and 2nd Street, Ashoka Nagar, Subbarao Nagar, Veerapandi Nagar, Rani Annanagar, Kalki Nagar, and along 100 Feet Road.
Arumbakkam - Affected zones will be Metha Nagar, NM Road, MH Colony, Railway Colony, Ampa Skywalk, Franko India, Vaishnav College, Govindan Street, Collectrate Colony, Ayyavoo Colony Gayathri Devi, Razack Garden, JD Duraj Raj Nagar, Azad Nagar, VGA Nagar, and SBI Officers Colony.

Azahgiri Nagar, Choolaimedu, and Kodambakkam will also be affected.
Thamizhar Veethi, Elangovadigal Nagar, Bathmanaban Main Road, Gandhi Annan Koil Street, Periyar Pathai, Ayyappan Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Andavan Street, multiple lanes in Sakthi Nagar and Thiruvalluvapuram, and portions of Nelson Manikam Road will face shutdowns.
Tamil Nadub Weather Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Tamil Nadu are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall till January 3. The weather department further stated that the temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in several districts, including the capital city, Chennai.
It further stated that the southern districts are set to witness cold wave and dense fog, especially in the early hours, adding to inconveniences to the travellers. The weather department asserted that the coastal and northern regions are set to witness light rain on January 1. It further advised the residents to plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
