Naidunia Correspondent, Raipur | The investigation into eight mysterious deaths in Kharve village in the Kasdol block of the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, Chhattisgarh, has revealed several shocking secrets. Suspicion is being cast on Ramsai Jaiswal (45), a local grocery store owner whose strange behaviour is now under investigation.
According to villagers, he used to share his violent plans, but people thought he was joking. Ramsai's dangerous plans include setting a gas cylinder on fire, and when people came to extinguish the fire, it would explode, killing everyone. He would often tell the youth to set someone's tractor on fire. The most surprising thing was that he seemed to be happy when discussing the frequent deaths in the village.
Whenever someone died in the village, Ramsai was the first to be informed. He would call people to his shop and inform them of the deaths. It seemed as if he was slowly moving towards some hidden target. Initially, people didn't take his actions seriously and ignored them, which ultimately led to a tragedy of eight deaths.
What Is The Case?
Eight people died under suspicious circumstances in Kharve village over the past four months. Initially, these deaths were considered normal, but when people began losing their lives one after another, villagers became suspicious. Rumours spread in the village that a larger conspiracy might be behind these deaths. Villagers alleged that Ramsai resorted to tantric rituals and human sacrifices in the hope of finding a mysterious treasure.

A Witness' Statement
A village youth, Umesh Navrange, said, "When I went to Ramsai's shop to buy gutkha, he told me that the villagers held me responsible for Mahetru's death. His body would have to be exhumed with a bulldozer and disposed of elsewhere."
"Soon after, he told me that he had bought borax from Sameer Navrange and warned me not to tell anyone. At that time, I didn't understand his words. He would incite me to kill Dilharan, Dinanath, Firat, and several other villagers, offering money in exchange for it, he claimed.
Navarange said the shopkeeper constantly asked him to set someone's tractor on fire, or destroy someone's standing crop by spraying weedicide on it. He also frequently mentioned hiding a gas cylinder among the paravat (planted trees) and setting it on fire, the youth claimed.
At the time, we were unable to discern his sinister plots and dismissed his words as a joke, never imagining the dire consequences, he added.
Who Is Suspect Ramsai?
Ramsai is the youngest of four brothers. He has two sons (one married), and a one-and-a-half-year-old grandson. He owns approximately four acres of agricultural land. Ramsai owns a grocery store in the village. He also opened a large wholesale and retail grocery store in front of the old police station in Kasdol about a year ago.
Suspicion is also mounting about Ramsai's activities because he had placed images of deities for tantric practices in a corner of his shop, where he allegedly practised them.
"Postmortems have been conducted on the bodies of the seven deceased, and forensic examinations are underway. Statements have been taken from 20 villagers, including relatives of the deceased. Police are now conducting a detailed investigation, taking all aspects into account," said Kaushal Kishore Vasnik, SDOP, Kasdol.
