Chhattisgarh News: A sensational case of kidnapping and robbery of a young man under the pretext of inviting him to a wedding ceremony has come to light in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur. The miscreants first called the young man to Santoshi Nagar Chowk, then took him on a bike to the Kamal Vihar area. There, the young man was intimidated and robbed of his valuables and cash. After the incident, the accused gagged the young man and left him in the Bhatagaon area and fled. The Muzgahan police station has registered a case against unknown accused and has begun investigation.
Victim Gets Invited To A Wedding
Rahul Nayak, a resident of Nayapara Ward No. 5 in Mahasamund district, has filed a complaint. Rahul stated that he received a call on his mobile phone on June 5. The caller stated that a wedding was being held in the Pandri area and that Rs 500 had been sent to his brother-in-law's mobile QR code.
Following the call, Rahul arrived in Raipur on June 6 and stayed at his aunt's house. That evening, he received a call from a different mobile number and was called to Santoshi Nagar Chowk.
Victim Taken On Bike To Kamal Vihar
According to Rahul, upon reaching Santoshi Nagar, a few men approached him, took him to the Kamal Vihar liquor distillery on a bike. Upon reaching there, the accused began threatening him. When he resisted, they abused him.
The victim stated in his complaint that the miscreants took an Octopad, an iPhone, a Redmi phone, and Rs 1,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be around Rs 67,000.
Victim Left In Bhatagaon With His Mouth Tied
After committing the crime, the accused gagged Rahul, put him on a motorcycle, left him in the Bhatagaon area, and fled the scene.
About a week after the incident, Rahul went to the Muzgahan police station and filed a written complaint. Based on the complaint, the police registered a zero FIR under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Investigation Underway
Police are now attempting to track down the accused using call details, technical evidence, and CCTV footage. Preliminary investigations are also underway to determine whether the callers were known to the young man or whether they were a premeditated attempt to lure him into the trap.
