Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke rejected BJP leaders' claims that almost half of the party's social media followers were from Pakistan. Initially created as a sarcastic approach, the party quickly gained national attention and raised serious issues with the government.

The Cockroach Janta Party has become one of the biggest sensations on social media and has been addressing problems such as unemployment, education policy, and pollution.

Dipte, proving his point, posted a screenshot of the audience analytics on X and wrote, "This video is the screen recording of our audience demographic, which we have shared with media before our account was hacked." He added that more than 94 per cent of the audience is from India. The Boston graduate then questioned Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on why he is labelling Indian youth as Pakistani.

What Did Rijiju Say

Earlier, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju shared a controversial post on X: "I pity those who seek their followers on social media from Pakistan & the George Soros gang."

Following this, BJP leader and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar reiterated that the platform had significant Pakistani engagement. He said, “49 percent of followers of the 'Cockroach Janta Party' on social media are from Pakistan and only 9 percent from India."

The entire controversy started from a digital campaign that started last week. The Kerala BJP President said that the CJP is a part of a classic cross-border influence operation aimed at destabilizing India and targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government.

How Did The Controversy Emerge?

The Cockroach Janta Party trend started after controversy over remarks allegedly made by the Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, during a hearing on a plea seeking senior designation of a lawyer. In the hearing, the CJI labelled the unemployed youth as "cockroaches and parasites."

There are "parasites in society" who do not find employment or fit into the legal profession and subsequently turn to media and social media to attack the system. He also highlighted a parallel issue, noting there are "thousands in black robes" who have entered the legal profession with "fake and bogus degrees."
