Delhi Car Crash: Two people were killed after a speeding Thar SUV collided with their motorcycle in the Delhi Cantt area on late Wednesday evening. The victims, a man and a woman, were riding the motorcycle when the SUV hit them. Both suffered fatal injuries in the accident and died on the spot.
Driver Held After Crash
Following the accident, people at the spot caught the SUV driver and handed him over to the police. The vehicle was also taken into police custody. According to news agency ANI report, Delhi Cantt police are now investigating the accident. Officers are checking CCTV footage from cameras installed at the accident spot and nearby areas to understand how the collision took place.
Speeding Thar Hits Congress MLA's SUV In Jaipur
In a separate incident on Wednesday, at least three people were seriously injured after a speeding Thar crashed into a Congress leader’s SUV at an intersection in Jaipur before hitting an e-rickshaw and overturning. The accident took place near Mansarovar Metro Station, where three people travelling in the e-rickshaw sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
According to police officials, the Congress leader’s vehicle had already been issued more than 18 challans for speeding. The Thar involved in the crash had also received more than four speeding challans. Jaipur Police said the Thar lost control while taking a turn and overturned after first crashing into a Ford Endeavour SUV. The SUV is registered in the name of the wife of Congress leader Ashok Chandna.
A crane was brought in to remove the damaged vehicles from the road and restore traffic movement. Police have seized both the Thar and the Endeavour and launched a search for the drivers who fled.
