Delhi Fire: Nine people were killed while 15 others were rescued after a suspected AC blast triggered fire at four-storey building in Vivek Vihar, located in Delhi's Shahdara in the wee hours on Sunday, jagran.com reported. As per locals, four to five people are still missing. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot on receiving information about the incident.
As per residents, the fire broke out at around 3 am and efforts were still underway to contain the fire.
"A blast in the AC triggered the fire... Around 12-15 were rescued. However, 4-5 people are still missing. The fire started at around 03:13 am... Fire tenders arrived at around 3:35 am... Efforts are being made to extinguish the fire." a resident, Rohit told news agency ANI.

Shahdara district Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajendra Prasad Meena said, "We received a call about the fire early in the morning. Fire tenders immediately reached the spot and brought the fire under control."
In March this year, nine members of a family, including three children were killed after a fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Delhi's Palam.
The five-storey building, owned by Rajendra Kashyap, housed a cosmetic shop on the ground and first floors, while the family lived on the upper floors, reported jagran.com. As flames rapidly engulfed the structure, neighbours rushed to the scene, shouting warnings, climbing rooftops, and even breaking through a wall to reach those trapped inside.
Eyewitnesses described the rescue efforts as risky with locals doing everything they could to save lives amid thick smoke and spreading flames.
