Delhi-Katra Special Train: In a bid to better accommodate passenger demand, the Northern Railway's Jammu Division has announced to extend the operational period for the special reserved train No 04081/04082, which runs between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Officials said that the decision comes as a large number of devotees are expected to visit the Vaishno Devi Temple during the auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri. The extension is expected to provide a smooth and hassle-free travel experience for devotees visiting the holy shrine during Chaitra Navratri.

- Earlier Schedule: February 22 to March 9, 2026

- Extended Schedule: March 18 to March 31, 2026

- Total Trips: 14

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal stated that the Railways have always been committed to passenger convenience and growing travel demand, Jagran.com reported. He noted that the extension was made due to the train's immense popularity and its 100 per cent occupancy during earlier trips.

He added that the extension of the Delhi-Katra Special train will particularly benefit tourists and devotees travelling to Vaishno Devi Temple, as well as passengers heading towards Kashmir during the upcoming Chaitra Navratri festival.
