Delhi Monsoon: Rains lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Sunday, offering much-needed relief from the humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further showers, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated places across the capital starting July 6.
According to the IMD, rainfall activity is expected to intensify from July 7, with wet conditions likely to continue until at least July 11.
The weather department has said the capital may receive isolated to scattered rainfall on July 6 and July 10.
Rainfall is likely to increase between July 7 and July 9, before picking up again on July 11, when fairly widespread to widespread showers are expected.
The IMD has also issued a warning for isolated heavy rainfall over Delhi and nearby regions between July 6 and July 9, as well as on July 11.
On Sunday, strong winds ranging between 40–50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph, were also forecast across several parts of Delhi, including South East and East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West, West, North West, and North Delhi.
Meanwhile, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab are also expected to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on July 6 and July 10. Rajasthan is likely to witness intense monsoon activity as well, with the IMD predicting isolated very heavy rainfall over East Rajasthan from July 6 to July 10, followed by heavy showers on July 11.
